That's what I usually do, too, but sometimes I use FlashGot's video download feature. It's a lot more of a pain to use than Video DownloadHelper, because it just shows you the full URL of the video options you have to choose from, and doesn't interpret them at all for you. There are also often more than one that have the same Name in the 3rd column, and the "hd1080" videos almost never work properly in VLC without converting the files first (it thinks the video is twice as long as it really is, and doesn't let you skip around), though MPC and Windows Media Player can read the unconverted files OK. I use the same converter that Video DownloadHelper uses: avconv. It worked to grab "Bristol_WNBR_2017_m_hd1080.mp4", and I'm now converting it to a version that VLC will open.
