I'm not sure if it was her being "competitive" or just feeling like my wife going first gave her "permission" in some weird sense, but one time me and my wife and another couple went on a picnic on an out-of-the-way hill we know on a hot hot summer day, maybe 90 degrees or more. After we'd laid out the blankets and put out food and pulled out the sunscreen, my wife - very casually, without even breaking the stride of conversation - pulled off her tank top and continued pulling food out to eat in her jean shorts and bra, and stayed that way for the next hour and a half or so. After maybe twenty minutes, the other guy's wife wordlessly joined her and did the exact same thing, which I doubt she had any plans to without my wife going first. No complaints here!
