Gave my mother-in-law a good show this morning.
I had horrible heartburn overnight, so I went downstairs to sleep on the couch so I could sit up a bit. Morning came, kids went to school and my wife left for work.
I was awoken to a knock on the door. It was my mother in law. I didn't get up in time, so she used her key to come in. She wanted to drop off some magazine article about politics, and she didn't know I was home.
I had a blanket over me and only a robe on, and I could feel my robe was wide open under the blanket. She asked where to put the magazine (I wanted to yell "into the garbage", ha), and I said I would take it from her.
I got up knowing my robe was open, and I had full on morning wood like a teenager, but I pretended not to notice.
Her eyes got huge and she stared at me. I looked down, pretended to be shocked, closed my robe as quickly as I could, and took the magazine.
We exchanged a few words, and she left. (She has seen me naked several times before, but totally different contexts and never just her and me alone, and never on "accident", which made it totally different, and never super hard.)
My wife texted me a few hours later and said, "I heard you gave my mom a show this morning."
Me, "Yep."
Wife, "She wanted you to know she felt badly for looking and didn't know what to say at the time." "And she said you did a good job covering up lightning fast."
Me, "Ha."
Wife, "I told her not to worry and that you probably loved every second of it."
Me, "Yes, I did!"
Wife, "Then don't cover up next time, silly!"
Me, "But I was totally hard"
Wife, "God, make sure I am there next time!"
