I absolutely believe this story. But I suggest that the woman that will let anyone else pick out a swim suit for her is both rare and wonderful, and since it seems unlikely she has never noticed the lack of a liner- according to my Theory of Plausible Deniability- she likes you picking out her swimsuits online BECAUSE you have them delivered to your office and remove the lining.
Since she didn't pick out the suit (or remove the lining) any accidental exposure that occurs in front of family/friends/random strangers cannot possibly be her fault. But your wife still gets the thrill of showing her most private parts to anyone she wants, as long as she wants, and no one-especially YOU- can give her a hard time about it. She gets to keep her sterling reputation AND have the fun of teasing every male she wants to- which makes you a very lucky man!
And of course we'd all enjoy a story about an instance when she wore one of her custom suits and was the center of attention-
