The organisers say there were about 500 riders, but not all of them completed the whole course. Perhaps a lot of them couldn't take the chilly breeze for more than the first stage.
Forget about ratios, there were good numbers of young, pretty, accommodating female participants, including many from last year. The two "Nude Flash" curvy blondes with flowers on their boobs and moneybelts covering their modesty, who ducked outside the enclosure to pose with a couple of policemen. The "Norway" girls - one tall Nordic specimen and her petite very-fair-haired friend. The red-headed hefty "Victim Support" girls who kept their knickers on at all the stops but peeled them off just before getting back on their bikes. The gorgeous girl with the shell-bra (which to my knowledge never came off). The "Now you see us" naked blonde with eyes on her prize. The well-endowed "One Less Car" girls who kept their floral knickers on as they bounced through the ride. The unadorned topless pair of girls posing with guy after guy at the north side of the Steine. The beautiful curly-haired freckled blonde with a gappy smile, boobs peeking out of her jacket (oh, for a good picture of her!). And those were just the most memorable ones to me, yet still I am spotting girls in the photographs you guys are posting that I somehow contrived to completely miss!
The organisers were big this year on people asking permission for close-up photos. I heard a lot of girls declining photographs when asked. I didn't get refused but I only pushed my luck a couple of times. There's no point posting any of the pictures I did take, everyone else's are so much better quality. I stopped thinking about pics at the end and just concentrated on enjoying myself.
There was dancing at Hove Lawns, dancing at the Steine, there was some topless dancing at the afterparty too. The only significant element missing this year was the beach party - there were only a handful of skinnydippers at Black Rock Beach. No-one bothered walking all the way across to the nude beach this year, as the whole beach was otherwise empty - just the riders and the zombie paparazzi herd. Unfortunately because of the chilly breeze, most of the cuties dressed very quickly and went straight home, but bravo to the ones who went in, braving two seas, one of huge foaming waves, the other of hand-held recording devices.
I am sure there are a mountain's worth of beautiful pictures still to emerge from this event. Most of the population of Brighton must have some in their phones by now!
