I remember seeing a photo here once where it was an older vintage photo of a naked woman tied up in a living room surrounded by about 8 to 10 fully dressed men...the wide-eyed look of shock/terror was perfect..."where did these guys come from?""why in the world did you let all your friends in here?" "OMG, what's going to happen to me?"
Well, it takes all kinds to make a world. Some people do like BDSM for those reasons, but there are other rationales. I like to see bound women teased to the edge of orgasm and tickled beyond their control -- essentially turning positive emotions like laughter and pleasure against them. The bound partner hates it but also loves it, and maybe loves that she can take it. If she was truly in distress, scared or in danger, there would be no enjoyment in that for me. The best videos are ones where she begs hard for release, and then after it's over is all smiles and ready to go again. Like a roller coaster ride.

But I really think all these rationales are just that. People like some sexual variations and don't like others for the same reasons they like some foods and don't like others. I didn't actively choose my fetishes, I simply created a rationale for them once I realized what they were.
