MARSOC uses silenced weapons. As do some of the guys/gals here at Bragg. Last year one of my buddies brought home a "military issue" device that was issued to him before he deployed to Afghanistan. It was basically a set of titanium knuckles with spikes in them. Totally illegal for a citizen to own in NC. Then we had an instructor here who tried to board a plane in Raleigh with a block of C4 in his carry on bag that he last used in Afghanistan. Claimed he forgot it was in there. I was expecting him to get charged, but that news somehow "went away" one some high level brass at Bragg got it. You forget you're on a "military Chicks" thread?
Tier 1 assets are exempt from the Hague Convention treaty. They are considered "other forces" not "armed forces". Hague Convention only applies to a countries "armed forces". That's why some of the guys/gals at Bragg use hollowpoint ammo on their missions, which is banned for use in conflicts by the Hague Treaty.
