Somewhat similar experience here, though the sex started much sooner in the friendship (we met at Fantasy Fest).
The important is that the friendship continues as friendship, sex not being the focal point of the relationship. Continue to socialize and go out together without the sex.
You may find that after a few foursomes or sixsomes, the novelty will wear off. If you vacation together, there will be more sex at the beginning than at the end of the trip. After 8 years of our 3 couple friendship, I find that if we visit one couple for a few days, I will have sex with his wife once. With the other couple, well, my wife has the hots for him, so she will sleep with him every other night.
Our situation is a bit different, since we live hundreds of miles from each other.
But the key thing is to keep the sex just a part of the friendship, not the focus.
