My Sister's Story
My sister, who eventually became an RN, got her start as a nurse's aide in a retirement home in rural Missouri. She hadn't been long on her job when she went to take some medication to one of the women. However, as she opened the door (for safety reasons there were no locks on the doors) and observed that the woman was "entertaining" one of the elderly men who lived there. She went back to the nurse's station and told the head nurse what she had seen and asked what she should do. She was told to simply close the door and leave them be.
She said that found out that the few elderly men that lived there were very popular, and this was in the days before Viagra.
