The Miss California pageant which was held the previous May in 1983, however I have found a short clip of the competition, which I’ve posted to the Nap-less pageant thread in the “Free-File Hosting” forum.

Although the title of the clip on the thumbnails below is “Ms Nude California 1980”, I believe this is incorrect, since there was an Indian theme in 1980 and this definitely looks like the same backdrop as the Ms Nude International pageant held two months later (see previous post).
Terrie Lynn Carr also won this competition (she appears in the 12th –14th thumbnails below).
