The Fleshers had a simple new backdrop painted for the 1979 pageants – just a bunch of yellow stars with “Miss Nude-USA” written on it. It seems that the Bill Flesher had appealed against the earlier ruling and was allowed to use the name providing a hyphen was put between the “Nude” and “USA” which further discriminated it from the “Miss USA” trademark. (In later years this “trivial” alteration was also banned after a counter-appeal by the “Miss USA” people – legally, a landmark in the trademark world!).
The
Miss Nude-USA 1979 pageant was held around July. Twelve of the contestants are shown in the line-up below but I think that there were about fifteen competitors. The winner was Pam Disandro and (comparing with Jennysathome’s earlier post - below), I believe Pam is contestant 3 (third in from the left).

There are quite a few pictures of the contestants that have already been posted but I don’t believe that they have been attributed to this competition so I post them again in the next few posts in the hope that nobody minds.
