If there's a risk of someone who isn't supposed to, accessing your computer, this wouldn't be a good idea.
For many though, it might be a habit. Like turning off the lights when leaving a room.
My computer requires a password to resume from screensaver so I'm not too concerned with anyone jumping on and seeing my bookmarks.
Do what works for your situation.
