I have had similar experiences with wearing a kilt. It seems like whenever gals see guys in kilts they just have to find out what, if anything, he has on under. I wore a kilt with a male thong on under it to a Halloween party and it wasn't a half hour until two gals cornered me and took it off.

Another time I was in a Scottish/Irish wedding where the guys all wore kilts. The booze was flowing at the reception and I'd been felt up a few times, but had underwear on. I went into a small storage closet and removed my underwear, but was caught by this gal who had felt me up earlier. I think she passed the word around to a few other gals as I was asked to dance quite a few times with the gals getting a free feel. Of course I took my liberties with them also.
