Three years ago, our anniversary fell on a Saturday but I'd known for about two months that I'd be away that day at a convention for work. My lady was accepting of this - she knew that I really would prefer to be with her on the day. I got up super early that morning, way before she was awake, and left for the convention.
Around mid-morning, there's a break and I'm sitting around a small table in a restaurant at the venue with four or five fellow attendees. These would be acquaintances I know from going to these events but not super close friends or anything.
I had my phone left on the table, face up. This is an important fact because: a) my lady decided to send me a little naughty pic (to remind me of what day it was) and b) any of you who have an iphone know that, when it receives a picture message, it shows a thumbnail of it on the main lock screen.
I heard the message tone but I wasn't too interested as I was chatting. One of the group who wasn't really that into it though, he noticed my phone and said "You might want to read that message you just received." I picked up the phone and managed to both smirk and look slightly embarrassed. Of course, cue great interest from the others to him about what he'd seen on the phone.
Thankfully (for my lady) it was about the tamest photo she's ever sent me.
