So this is a non-fiction story, with pictures!

My wife and I went to Hampton Beach in NH last week. While it's technically legal to be topless in NH and on Hampton Beach, virtually no one does it. My wife and I have been talking about women's rights to be topless, especially with the big "Free the Nipple" day coming August 23rd. There will be a huge event at Hampton, with over 1,000 expected to participate. We plan on attending.

So, with that in mind, we decided to venture to the beach ahead of that event, and see what happens if she went topless on a "normal" day.

We arrived around 1:00pm to a very busy Hampton Beach. It was a beautiful day, sunny and around 80 degrees. We set up our chairs and umbrella pretty close to the center of the beach, behind the bandstand closer to the water. My wife wore basic black bottoms, but had a very sheer pink bikini top she figured she'd start with. It's actually not a bathing suit top, but a piece of lingerie that just happend to work well. It was a triangle top that was adjustable to any specific width. She started full width, quickly reduced it to only hide her nipples, and within about 20 minutes was completely topless.

We took a couple of walks, to either end of the beach. We passed by a LOT of people. Their reactions were exactly what we thought they would be. Most women stared disapprovingly, though some did nod their heads as if in silent approval. And most men were breaking their necks trying to swivel around to catch a second glimpse.

During our stay we also purchased a very see though black cover up, which she also wore for a couple of walks. It was funny watching people stare at her trying to figure out if they were actually seeing what they thought they were seeing. Towards sunset we decided to take a few photos on a couple of rocks in the water as well.

We stayed until around 8:00pm, and the whole time we were there, we literally did not see one other woman go topless. This was both exciting, and a bit dissapointing. It was exciting to see my wife be the only woman on the beach topless. She's not shy, and pretty brave if you ask me. It's also dissapointing that even though it's technically legal, it's so frowned upon around here that virtually no one else will do it. Hopefully the event on the 23rd will change that!
