Default Chapter 6

Kimmy was dropped off at home, where she had to return the blanket to the officer. She handed it to him through the crack in her door, closing it as he left.
The power was still off in the house, and she was absolutely exhausted. She put some random food in her stomach, then crawled into bed.
She awoke in the morning to hear back up beeping from a vehicle in her drive way.
She wondered what it could be, when she heard a knock at her door.
She forgot for a moment her particulars looking for something to throw on. As realization dawned, she crept naked to her door.
“Yes, hello?” she said, staring through an open crack.
“Uh, AC repair. You called?”
“Uhh, this isn’t a good time. Can you come back?”
“Yeah, if you want us to come back, it may be weeks … your unit is outside anyway, so we shouldn’t … disturb you.” He looked in hopefully through the crack in her door.
“OK, that’s fine, thank you.” She slammed the door.
Suddenly, she realized the power was back on. She ran to her utility room, and the washer had all its lights blinking. She pressed a button, and she heard water draining out of the machine. Within a few seconds, she heard the lock release. She opened the door. Inside was a cold, heavy mass of clothes, that smelled slightly musty. She pulled them out of the washer and on to the floor. She thought about putting them in the drier, but if she lost power, she’d face the same problem she did yesterday. So she decided to line dry them … just as soon as the AC repair men left her back yard.
She was almost done with breakfast, when suddenly she heard a commotion net to her house.
“Run … RUN!!”
There was a furious knock at her door.
She ran and opened it a crack.
“Your AC unit is on fire, and its right next to your main gas line. You gotta get out of the house, now!”
The force of his voice made her panic, and she was suddenly running out as is.
As she stood on her lawn, she watched the fire from the unit spread to her house.
She turned to the man. “You have to do something!” She suddenly remembered her situation, and covered up, blushing.
“We’ve already called the fire department.”
The fire department arrived, set up quickly, and began to hose down the side of her house.
And then … a news van pulled up.
A reporter she recognized from TV stepped out. “Holy cow, the house is on fire.” Suddenly, he locked eyes with her. “I can’t believe it, she’s STILL naked. Get the camera going NOW!”
Within seconds, she was being confronted y the reporter and the camera man. “Many citizens of this community have been offended by your streaking yesterday. How do you respond?”
“What? My house is on fire! Can’t you see what’s going on?”
“How do you respond to allegations that you had sex with a minor during your nude romp yesterday?”
“What? No … that’s not … the police didn’t charge me with that!”
“What did the police charge you with?”
“Nothing! Why are you asking me this? Can’t you see what’s happening?”
“Are you naked as some kind of protest?”
“No, I’m naked because my house might explode! Get off my property!”
The reporter signed off, and then the camera man put down the camera.
“Thank goodness she wasn’t an uggo,” he said to the camera man.
She was shaking with rage when the fire man interrupted her. “Uhh, miss. Your fire is out. We’ve had a look through the structure. Everything is fine except the utility room. The floors and the walls may no longer be sound there, so don’t go in at all.”
Kimmy stammered. “B-but … all my clothes are in there!” But she was already talking to the back of her head.
The AC guy came over apologetic. “Uhh … we’ll mail you our insurance forms … you can send them to your home owner’s insurance company once you receive them. Also … I called my boss … we’ll fix you unit for free … once all the other damage is repaired.”
Her head was still ringing as she closed her front door, and everyone drove away.
As her nerves settled down, she realized she had to investigate that pile of clothes in her utility room, no matter what. So she found her self cautiously approaching.
The room was very smoky, and the walls and floor next to the walls were blackened.
But the moist clothes in the center of the room looked untouched.
She crossed the threshold, and her first foot step creaked strangely. Her next one creaked ominously. She froze in place. As she looked around, she realized that it seemed the washing machine was leaning forward at an angle it had not in the past.
She backed up, and decided to crawl on her belly. The floor creaked but not quite as loudly. She reached the clothes. They was a little warmer than before, but not much so. It seems the moisture protected them from the heat. She tried to pull an article of clothing out, but they were all mushed together in a mass that she couldn’t untangle from her position. She tried to pull it but it was too heavy. Then, not thinking, she put one foot on the ground and tried to lift the pile.
Immediately that foot sunk through a large hole she had just made. Her other leg splayed out flat on the floor. Sudden pain poked her butt cheek as sharp floor boards poked into it. She put both her hands on the sides of the hole she had made to support her weight, and the pain in her cheek lessened dramatically.
She tried to pull out her leg, but it seemed to be wedged under something. She yanked harder, but then suddenly the hole in front of her grew bigger.
The pile of clothes fell into the hole. As it grew even bigger, the washing machine tipped forward, and then fell on top of the pile, into the hole.
As the washing machine wet down, metal groaned underneath her. A gentle spray of water emerged from under the floor, as a pipe that the washer lay on began to bend and break.
The hole grew bigger, eventually getting to the wall, which also collapsed into the forming hole. The rubble put more stress on the pipe, which bent further. The gentle mist of water suddenly turned into a rather forceful stream, suddenly directed right between her open legs.
Kimmy gasped with the sudden stimulation. She tried to cover herself, but the moment she took her hands off the floor, her weight once again came down on the sharp broken timbers digging into her butt.
As the dust cleared from the hole in her wall, she saw it lead out to her front yard. Outside, a neighbor had come to investigate the strange commotion at her house. He found himself looking in the new hole directly at her. “Are you OK?”
Kimmy grit her teeth, fighting the stimulation of the water. “P-please .. help me ..”
She tried to climb in through the hole. But it creaked and some dust fell on him. “I’ll … uhh .. call 911.”
The force of the water grew slowly as the pipe opened more, making her moan between her teeth, and writhe involuntarily.
Suddenly, she noticed the guy who had just called 911 seemed to be filming her.
“No, please … UHH … don’t …”
Suddenly, there was another neighbor looking in the hole at her. “Hey, Hello there!”
The both starred at her.
Writhing, her breath ragged, unable to cover herself, she begged “Please .. just .. don’t look …”
They starred, transfixed.
“Did you try …” the new gawker began.
“Yep. I couldn’t.”
“How about …”
“Already did. On their way.”
He nodded. “OK, then.” They both proceeded to watch her display of increasing involuntary pleasure. Sirens grew in the distance.
Both Kimmy and the fire department arrived at the same time.
The fire department cleared away the gawkers, and found the water main, giving Kimmy immediate relief. She panted as she collected herself.
The fire fighters stared at her through the hole, discussing different ways to stabilize the structure and extricate her. Meanwhile, she was just stuck there, exposed to everyone.
Finally, a fire man came at her from the door behind her, carefully pulling up some boards with his axe. He was able to pull her into the hallway.
“Weren’t we JUST HERE, telling you that THAT was the only room you shouldn’t go into?”
“I’m sorry, but my clothes were in there.”
“You’re going to need extensive repairs to make this house livable again. We had to turn off the water main, so you’ll need a plumber first to fix that pipe. But you can’t stay here in this heat without running water, you’ll die. You need to find someone to stay with until the water is fixed.”
The fire fighters cleared out after that.
