How about we use the Random Number Generator to select two stories, and for a two week period we attempt to focus on new chapters specifically for those two stories?

We won't specify which writers have to write in which order, so that way everyone can contribute as and when they can.

I also liked the idea of setting both options as "Author's Choice" so that we're not restricted by bad options (for example, just read a story where the options were for a woman to have her clothes either cut off or pulled off - that's not really a choice).

However! A drawback of this is that when you select "Recent Chapters" it would bring up a dozen or so "Author's Choice", which would make the threads of the story hard to follow. I would suggest instead that the writer re-name the title before adding any new scenes (this can be done when adding a new chapter. Just above the Chapter Text box is a Chapter Title box).

Both points are the reason why I leave one option as "other" when I know one option is where I want the story to go. This has the same problem as "Author's Choice", which as you pointed out, can be changed when you write the new post. So, a good practice is to have at least one "Author's Choice" or "other" option just so you don't stifle creativity, but still have a way to either hint at or reserve a choice for future posts.
