Yup. Surprised that this topic reached so many pages. I thought I was a loner, but I guess not!
My wife and I had lost all our pictures from our vacation 2 summers ago. After telling her older sister about the unfortunate happening, her sister told her that it had happened to her before too and that her son had retrieved them easily. Thinking it was a great idea, she told her to tell him to come by when she wasn't busy to try and retrieve them. He came over the same day.
He had a software for retrieving lost files, photos, videos, etc. He was not monitored as my wife and I were doing our own thing downstairs while he was on the computer. After about 30 minutes I went up to check on him. He looked shocked and startled when I came in. He immediately got up and said that he had revived the files.
We were obviously happy. He closed the software and left soon after. I went on the computer, viewing the photos. I decided I would send the photos to my e-mail just in case something happens again. As I opened the e-mail, I saw that my nephew had not logged off his e-mail. The first e-mail was one he had sent to himself. It read 'Aunty' -- curious, I opened it and he found 5 attached photos. They were of my wife from a while back, all completely nude! I guess he recovered those too...
I never told my wife about it nor did I confront him about it. Just too awkward. Not sure if he uploaded them on the internet somewhere, I hope he didn't!
