You can use playground tactics to say "THEY use the word, so I can, TOO!" if you must, but that doesn't even apply to this discussion. The fact is that we're operating under a certain lexicon wherein words, surprise-surprise, have meanings, and the word "Jap" has been claimed by vicious racists as a means to disparage the Japanese. By all means, use the word if you feel so inclined, but be prepared for the fact that people are bound to assume that you're akin to the kind of person who uses the same word.

The fact that you are actually complaining about being "oppressed" by minority groups also speaks very poorly of your character, putting you in league with Gamergaters, Klansmen, and other assholes who are so weak-minded and comfortable that a minor non-convenience is tantamount to an act of oppression.
