Great thread Droon, many thanx for posting. When I was younger I used to go to a lot of the Russian clubs in Paris, the Raspoutine, Monseigneur, Tzarevitch, etc. That's where I met a real live Russian princess, Tania Maximova who, although she was in her 80's still sang. She was one of the last true "ladies of the night." Nearly all closed today.
My favourites however are the end of school dances in their black skirts, white pinafores, and lace pompoms in their hair. If you have any available, they'll be most appreciated.
As it is, at my age, all I can manage now is a trip to the Russian cemetery at Ste Geneviève to visit some old friends from time to time.
