What are the rules about us putting watermarks on image we post?

I mean things like "Uploaded by Phonestuff", "found on OCC", or similar ones.

The only reason I ask, is that I've acquired quite a collection of pics/vids, but don't really want them ditributed all over the net. And, in the past, I've found that putting a watermark on them discourages people from mass uploading them elsewhere.

Can the Mods/Admin please get back to me on this one if possible.
