IS THAT LEGAL ?
IS THAT LEGAL ?
We are often asked is it legal to dress like that and how do you keep from getting arrested wearing clothes like that and flashing? Two things, common sense and luck. Denny says it’s more of one than the other!
In reality most of what I wear is illegal in Florida and many states. Even many police are confused by the latest dress codes. Here’s how we understand it: No thongs and no excess butt cheek is permitted. As for tops and tits, we think it’s illegal to show side boob, bottom, boob, and over a certain percentage of top boob. I think cleavage and low tops is legal. However if you are someone important or have money anything seems to go in public.
When we first moved here as long as the nipples and pussy were covered it was legal. That’s why I started wearing only a short mini skirt and low blouses and tank tops. I can make adjustments and “accidentally” show forbidden parts.
In way over 50 years I’ve been called names by people and been warned by police very few times. But at our first stop this weekend I got called a wh*r* and a sl*t. That is actually rare. We’ve also noticed I get stared at and name called more as I get older and should know better.
The few times police have warned me were several years ago right on Main Street Daytona Beach during bike week. Once I was wearing my custom made Xena top. I’d worn it for most of the week all over.
The other two times I was on A-1-A in front of the last Resort Bar in Port Orange wearing my red, white, blue suspenders right after I bought it and stepped out of the fenced party area onto the public sidewalk and later again downtown Daytona Beach after walking around all day that way. But the police were nice and at that bar told me to get back inside the private fence. Down on Main Street I was just asked to leave or I’d be arrested.
We really can only think of a few other times like that when I was told to cover part way up. I’ve never been told I shouldn’t be flashing. Once after the new Florida laws started being enforced we walked up to a group of traffic cops in the medium near a congested biker area and asked if I was legal. I had on those suspenders or the Xena top. They all pointed to their boss and told us to ask him. But said “this is not Daytona. It looks fine to us.“ Yes we’ve been lucky.
Also on Bourbon St New Orleans we asked about flashing. All that group of cops said was it’s illegal but most often if they see women doing it they ignore them unless they draw a crowd. That will get me arrested. We made sure when on public streets there I only flashed a few people quickly and didn’t repeat until someplace else. I even had pictures flashing with two policemen there and in a few other states. Most are friendly human beings. But you never know how the next one feels about nudity.
Anyway these were just a few more notes on nudity in public and how I get by with it.
