An addendum to this story --
This past weekend I was in a neighboring town and stopped into a restaurant for lunch. While eating, a woman came in that looked vaguely familiar. She looked at me for a moment then mouthed my first name. I shook my head and she came over and I realized it was the woman I had posted about above. She was meeting some friends there for lunch but they had not arrived.
She sat down at my table and we chatted for a few minutes. We had not seen each other in over 20 years. We talked about our families and careers. She lived in a small town about 40 miles from me. I had an internal conversation about whether I should mention it to her but her friends arrived before I said anything.
