He introduced us to one of the State Co-coordinators on domestic violence. It was her job to take referrals from our sheriffs and their deputies, find housing for the women and children involved, make sure the case got to the prosecutors office, and pressure the prosecutor to take it to trial. In addition, she has to find drug and alcohol programs for the women, and support groups for the kids most of the time.
