I always wanted to know when you put in the photo into Reverse image search what happens to it after the search? Does Google retain a copy?

I'll bet whoever you contact will say "NO, we don't keep copies." When it comes to the internet I trust everyone here as much as our old film developer of years ago!
In fact I'd believe Google as much as I'd believe a politician.

Just this week I had two different friends who don't know each other send a few photos of my wife from on forums wishing a couple of guys happy birthday. They weren't anything but skimpy top photos with something I'd written about HAPPY BIRTHDAY. But they were my own for personal use. And it is way too late to do anything because the birthdays were over a year ago.
Just shows anything and everything is copied.
