Here's what I figured out ... first of all, I thought, they need to be somewhere on your computer if you view them, right?
On my PC, they were in my Temporary Internet Files folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\ghillie_is_god\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
YouTube files masquerade as non-descript, no extension files with names that begin with "
get_video?video_id=xxxxxxxxxwhatever" I confirmed this with Filealyzer... the first few bites are "FLV."
I sorted the Temp Internet Files directory over the file size and found them immediately.
If you keep an eye on the time you play a particular file, you'll be able to identify the particular file by the time. You may be able to sort over time, too, and find the file. It's easier just to keep a small Explorer window open in the Temp Internet Files and snag a video of interest when it completes playing.
Now, select the file and right click/copy the "
get_video?video_id=xxxxxxxxxwhatever" file. Deposit the file somewhere, like your desktop. The next step is simple: rename the file to whatever you want to call it, but ALWAYS give it the extension of ".FLV." These "get_video?..." files ARE FLV files.
For example, rename
"
get_video?video_id=xxxxxxxxxwhatever" to
"QueeniesQuiveringQuim
.FLV"
If you don't have an FLV player, they're around. I used "FLVplayer 0.0.4", found at this site: hxxp://www.tekool.net/flash/flv_player/
Now, grab your glad rag, sit back, and just play your file.
If it doesn't work, don't ask for help. Really. Dink around a little. I doubt you'll have any problems because I just walked right through it like I wrote here.
Have fun!
