It may be useful to point out that there is more to the Fremont Solstice Parade than naked cyclists. The event starts with the bikers who loop down the parade route than pedal off to the post-parade party at nearby Gasworks Park. Along with a few more riders I would like to show a little of the parade itself which is very well-done. One mute observer of this summer rite is a statue of VI Lenin, a relic of the fall of communism in East Europe. He fits in nicely in this funky Seattle neighborhood (not far from the Fremont Troll who lives under a bridge) but does not seem too smitten by the parade or paraders.
