I just found out, that in this case, the painted lady actually "owns" that bookstore, and was a very willing model. But, I'll bet the shoot was done when her store was closed.
It reminds me of a similarly attractive woman who owned a trendy and expensive restaurant in a nearby upscale suburban town. She had a very tastefully and discreetly posed, but fully nude, portrait done, that she used in all her ads in the very glossy statewide monthly magazines. It was a very classy brand image, and since she greeted all her customers at the door, everybody knew who she was, and that she had nothing to hide.
I always suspected that the ads drew the guys in, but that their wives and girlfriends resented the image, no matter how tastefully done.
I haven't seen the ads in several years, and suspect the restaurant either lost its trendiness, or the often offended wives and girlfriends found a way to kill it.
