Now, as to Klondike's comment about this being a sub-par year for the riders, just based on the photo sets I've seen here and on Flickr and other locations, I would have to agree.

It's interesting looking for repeats, and there were some others that have not been posted. I'f I can figure out how this board works, I'll try to post some.

But of greater curiosity to me is that some of the long time regular riders are missing. There are a lot of ladies who participated multiple times in the past, who had become familiar faces (or bodies), but who were not present this year.
I kind of sensed a younger, less experienced ride this year that was comparatively leaderless. I think that the amount of time and energy that goes into the major paint jobs and costumes could lead to a kind of burn out. Back in 2010 and 2011 it rained but it seemed that the theatrics was peaking then. I missed 2012. Last year probably did not measure up to those two years.

But it used to be until last year that there was no beer garden, bands, food venders etc. in Gaswork or at least the nudes did not stray down that far, keeping to the hill area to the west. Now when the ride ends, riders head straight into a party rather than
a comparatively empty grassy area.

All this suggests to me some newer, younger leadership and perhaps a change in emphasis from a fashion
show to a party, I don't know...But the turnout is still strong...
