Default WH** C**Y, ILLINOIS HILL CLIMB AND RALLY-

WH**C**Y, ILLINOIS HILL CLIMB AND RALLY-

---This was our first long motorcycle trip. Probably in mid-70's. Well, for us it was long. Over 125 miles, not too far from St louis, I believe. We lived about ** miles West of Bloomington, Illinois, off I- 55. Wh** C**y was down I-55 a piece, just off the interstate. It was a hill climb event and rally. We went with a half dozen other friends and wives, two up, on our bikes. We had the ole 50' Panhead, one a Ducatti, a BSA, a Sporty, a Norton, and something else.
---Again, we camped in our tiny one man pup tents with basic supplies. It's what bikers did back then. After all, it was a rally and there were food vendors. Musta been July. It was very hot. Which was a good thing. This was our first rally and first time mingling with real bikers and biker babes. We had heard there would be nudity. But never expected that much. I was in hog heaven. Since some of our friends were---how do ya say---prim and proper, it was going to be difficult for Dollie to NOT wanna flash or go nikid. She really did try. But when big ole burley bikers kept beggin her, and their wimmin flashed me, Dollie just had to whip those little babies out....over and over. Amazing us, at least three of the other gals with us did the same. It's a rally sort of thing, I guess.
All in all I saw lots of tits and ass, got sunburned, drunk, and had fun. Coming home, North up I- 55, we all got scared to death. First, it was rainin very hard. But we were prepared....yea right. We had some of those $2 clear plastic rain outfits. They lasted maybe a mile before they ripped apart! But with the big ole blue windshield and bubble helmet---yea I was a big time biker now... the rain wasn't a problem.
We heard what sounded like a large train engine coming up behind us. The ground was shakin. Lookin back, cars, bikes, and everyone were pulling off on the shoulder. Saw a few bikes get crowded and knocked over. As the group of bikers got close, we all got over on the right shoulder and stopped.
Chicago Hells Angels.... A whole flock of them, moving at a high rate of speed filling both lanes and more. Ahead of us, we saw other bikers get crowded and kicked off the highway. Kinda made us want to shit our pants right there. Never before and never again did we see such a sight.
We made it to I 74 and headed West toward home. Wet, shook up, and full of memories of our first real bike rally.
