"It was no set at all. It was right in the middle of Greenwich Street
one block south of 14th Street. I saw the good looking blond with the
great breasts and even better butt... Didn't know it was going to
happen so I didn't have a camera with me. What made it more E_N_F_ is
that it was right across from the construction of the Gansvoort Hotel
and you had all the construction workers cat-calling from all the
floors they were working on while the meat workers were oogling the
girl from the side walk, literally ten feet from her. Ain't NYC
great!!!

PS: Just looked again at the Vid on the Virgin Mobil site
(GIVING_WEB.mov) and I see that I am actually in it in the background!

Posted with his permission, here are some more of erosbooks' remembrances of the filming of the Virgin Mobile commercials. Questions and copyediting for clarity by me:

"Its 11 years later and I don’t remember as much now as when I made my original report.. I’ll answer your questions as best I can, from memory and not after re-watching the three commercials. If I don’t remember I’ll say so.

- Were you there from the beginning, or did you just stumble upon it mid-shoot? If you were there from the beginning, how did she seem before filming started? Anxious or relaxed? When getting naked, did she take off her clothes piece by piece, or just drop a robe?

I got there right before they started filming the segment in the plaza in front of the Gansevoort Hotel construction site. All the models were already naked, facing the photographer on the opposite corner, and holding the phones at crotch level. All the actors seemed comfortable (and I think they had already shot one commercial around the block from where I saw them). It was a bit chilly and the models moved around a bit accordingly.

- About how long did the whole thing last? How long was she naked for?

I no longer remember seeing any one particular person, just the large group. I was there for about 20 minutes and left before the scene was finished being filmed. So they all had to be naked for at least 20 minutes for just that shoot.

- How many takes did they do? Just one, or more? If it was more than one, what was she doing between takes?

The spectators were kept back at least 100 feet. I could not tell if there were multiple takes. It seemed more like the director was spending the time getting every one in position.

- Assuming there was more than one take, did she get dressed or put a robe on between takes, or did she stay naked the whole time? If she stayed naked, did she cover up at all with her arms?

Because of the cold there were initially some people with arms crossed over their chests, seemingly for warmth and not modesty. No one was putting on any garments during the time I was there.

- Do you know where her clothes were while she was filming? In a pile by the film crew? Or did you not see her clothes?

I did not see any clothes. Then again I could not see around the block where technical people were.

- Did she interact with the crowd at all? If so, what did she do or say?

Every one I remember still was facing the director and camera.

- Did she have any specific reaction to so many people watching her/seeing her naked?

The models did not look at or interact with the audience.

- What was her interaction with the film crew like? Were they going out of their way to do anything to make the shoot more comfortable for her? Or was she pretty much on her own?

Again, I do not remember seeing any one person, just the group.

- What was her reaction to the catcalls you said the construction workers were shouting at her? Embarrassed, appreciative, or just trying to ignore them? Do you remember any of what they yelled? And how did the director get them to quiet down?

The construction workers where on the 3rd or 4th floors of the hotel building construction. I could barely hear what they were saying from the street below. I doubt the models heard what they had to say. Mostly it was non-obscene remarks about how good the girls looked.

- That wolf whistle in the commercial: was that real, from a bystander, or was it added in later?

I don’t remember the wolf whistle.

- Were there any cops there to protect her/supervise the film shoot?

There were police at the 14th street end, mainly to direct traffic away from the area. Don’t remember any crowd control officers. But nude shoots in the meat packing district were not rare, and often more hard core than what I was seeing that day.

- What happened after they were done shooting, if you stayed around that long? What was her reaction to being done? Relief? Did the crowd cheer and applaud her? Did she rush to get dressed or did she stay naked for a while? If she got dressed, did she put all of her clothes on, or just a robe? If she stayed naked, what was she then doing at that point?

I had to leave after 20 minutes because I had work to get done. It was actually pretty boring.

Sorry, I remember less now than I did in 2003. The [behind-the-scenes picture] you have at https://forum.oneclickchicks.com/atta...8&d=1342729648 [was] not shot while I was there, and some [commercials] were shot at a different location, farther west near the west side highway."
