Rebeca had been surprised. The bank had contacted her for a interview, and she imagined it was to tell her she was going to lose the house, the house she had inherited, but had no money to keep up with its debts. A house that had been in her family 200 years and meant more to her than anything. When the bank director had looked her up and down, and gave her an address to go to to make a deal that would save her house, she had never had such a strange and confusing interview in her life. When she tried to ask more he was already on the phone and waved her out of the office so she grasped the paper with the directions and left.
The very next day she was there, in what was an expensive apartment, and was wondering why on earth would this be happening.
