Anyone read the book "First Your Money, Then Your Clothes, My Life and Oh! Calcutta!" by the housewife turned actress Raina Barrett? In it she gives a first hand account of her participation in the first presentation of the ground breaking play, in terms of on stage nudity , Oh! Calcutta!
The director insisted that the rehearsals from the beginning be fully nude. She tells about the exercises the director put them through so they would be comfortable on stage in front of the audience and comfortable nude with each other. She stated that initially the director had in place a strict "no sex amongst the cast" rule, which due to the pent up sexual tension that built up between cast members lasted about one week! The director scrapped it and there where many liaisons!!!
She thinks the scrapping of the "rule" helped with the casts ability to interact and enhanced the quality of the show.
