She's a bold girl: Meeting the Sweetheart
We met via the Internet.
[Do I hear yawns? Fair enough. Proceeding...]
We were both members of an online discussion board, and discovered we had interests in common. After a while, as we got into more personal matters, we switched to email. Then we decided it was time to meet in person. (IRL as they say. Or do they still say that? Oh, well.)
[Anyone still awake? Don't worry, there's not a lot more to tell.]
Where to meet? Her city? Mine? A scenic destination in between? Ha! The bold girl accepted my invitation to fly out for a long week-end in my city (where she'd never been, nor did she know anyone here), in January (expect 0 degrees F), and stay at my apartment. (By the way, we had agreed it would be more interesting to meet without exchanging pictures.)
We recognized each other the instant she got off the plane. We could have stopped for a coffee or something, but the bold girl was more interested in going to my place and getting better acquainted, so that's what we did, for the next 5 hours or so. Then, since we really needed food, we went to the neighborhood classic burger joint; along with burgers and fries, we shared a cherry cola with one straw.
One straw?? Well, since our lips and tongues had been every place we've heard of (and some places we may not have heard of), sharing a straw was just fine.
Always adoring my bold girl -
