I found that the extra HD filled up rather quickly also and ended up with the DVD writer anyway.
Now with the Writer I can burn those videos so they can be watched on any DVD player, for when you don't have your computer handy.
IMHO, the extra HD for your collection only will just delay you burning DVD's later.
