What you seem to be calling "grannie pantie" are actually called spankypants, and are a color coordinated part of the uniform. As such, they will probably not be redesigned, or replaced with something smaller with less coverage. This in no way, of course, prevents the cheerleader(s) from wearing whatever they want under the spankypants, up to and including bikini cut panties, or even thongs. Then it becomes a question of 'do we get to see them change into/out of their spankypants?'
