Talking My stash

I know this is an old thread but I just discovered it and it brought up a few memories I'd like to share:

Back in the 1960's when I was a kid of about 10 years old, I grew up in a small rural town and would often walk along the main road in town just for something to do. Occasionally, along the side of the road I would run across a nudie magazine or even an underground hardcore rag, full of B&W hardcore photos. These were, as far as I could tell, shared at work and then tossed out of passing cars on the way home because the original owner was afraid to get caught with them at home. Anyway, after thumbing through them, I would dutifully turn them over to my dad for proper disposal.

Fast forward a couple of years and I am about 12 years old and rummaging around in my dad's closet for some reason and I run across an old box up on the top shelf. When I open it up, I am amazed to find all those mags, safely stored away. I was shocked to realize that he'd kept all of them for his own use! (DUH!) That was when I realized the collector's value of porn and that was the last time I ever handed one over to him and I began my own stash!

In fact, around that same time, my mom was changing the sheets on my bed and found a Playboy that I had hidden between my box spring and mattress. She put it back but told my dad about it. It was then that he decided to sit me down for "The talk". Of course, by that time he was a little too late. I had it mostly figured out by then! He told me about mom's discovery and said it was ok, that all boys get curious, but that I should find a better place to hide it.

("The talk", incidentally, had nothing to do with birds OR bees. It did, however, include a demonstration with a female electrical outlet and the male end of a lamp cord. He simply slammed the plug into the outlet and asked, "Get it?" I could barely contain my laughter when the light bulb in the lamp lit up and glowed brightly! Well, I had seen the light and I was off and running! I eventually discovered a cave in the woods behind my house and it became the repository for my growing collection.

About a year later, when I was 13 and on summer break from school, an adult bookstore/theatre in a neighboring town partially burned and the building was condemned. The place closed and someone brought in a huge dumpster for all the refuse. It did not take long for word to get around among my group of friends, that there was a goldmine in that dumpster! Along with charred lumber, scorched masonry and waterlogged flooring material, there were 1000's of books and magazines, 8mm tapes and all sorts of toys to be mined from it. That dumpster kept us busy every night for about 2 weeks as me and my buddies went for the gold! Soon, it became obvious that none of my friends had a place big enough to store all the goodies they were hauling back each night. I saw my chance to take advantage of their misfortune and share in all the plunder so I let them in on my secret, The Cave. Everything was gathered together, placed in plastic bags for protection and stored in The Cave. We would meet there occasionally, thumb through magazines, read stories and then because we didn't really know what to do with all the excitement, we would beat the shit out of each other with the rubber dildos!

Unfortunately, not everyone would put stuff back in the bags or reseal the bags correctly and most of the books and mags did not last the summer. Things began to disappear also. When we finally located a projector at a friend's house and we knew his parents were to be gone for the whole day, we set up a viewing. At the appointed time, a group of 5 or 6 of us met at The Cave. We dug through the bags for the movies and found they were all gone! We never found out who took them all but that was the end of our perverted little club. Surrounded by unreadable and waterlogged books and picture magazines and empty cardboard 8mm movie boxes, we gave up and disbanded.

My stash now, consists of a couple of books and magazines, but mostly toys, DVDs and VCR tapes, some of which belong to my wife and some belong to me. They are all stored in boxes under the bed or in our bedroom closet. What will happen to everything when we are gone or who will end up with it all? Who knows but I hope the kids enjoy it all!
