I guess the Hollywood portrayal of American high schools hasn't quite caught up with the reality; I suppose most writers/directors/producers are a little older and are basing things off there own experiences. Of course it's also the case that TV and movies are a lot more conservative than they used to be 'back in the day', in the world as a whole but particularly the US and Britain, so we're actually a lot less likely to see a shower scene (however tame) on which to judge these things. Thanks for the info.!

Incidentally xxxxenophile, I wasn't suggesting coed facilities. I think we all know that's not likely to ever happen without a radical shift in thinking. It would be funny though, if they suddenly made a law requiring people to have coed changing and showers - just imagine that first lesson.
