@piecenick: As someone who was born in the eighties I'd have to say 'Senior Member' is definitely the right title for you after reading your story.
I don't think I've heard of crossed wires in the original telephone context outside of old black and white films! Your story now makes me wish it was something that was still a possibility today, though I'm not sure I'd hear anything as juicy as you did; the internet and video phones have pretty much done away with phone sex these days - though I'm now imagining a 'crossed wires' situation with some video phone sex!
@Qazwox27: I also had to think a bit before realising 'HS' was high school.
I'd always thought, based on TV, film and other media, that American schools had communal (single sex) changing rooms and showers. Is that not actually the case or does it depend on the school? Perhaps the embarrassment was due to the fact it was bathing, rather than showering, which seems more intimate to western culture?
@imbiable: As a fellow Brit I experienced the same set up as you did in school. The only difference was that in my school the most anyone did was shower off the worst of any mud they might have on them and then shower properly at home; I understand from talking to the girls that it was the same for them. This was more because we were left very little time in which to change and get to our next lesson than anything else - there just wasn't enough time to shower!
