I made it to the coffee shop earlier than usual and had some time to kill so I decided to sit and read a book I had just picked up. I sat at one of the booths and sipped my coffee. The book was mildly entertaining, something about a girl who loses her way and finds it again, yawn. Out of the corner of my eye I catch a pair of eyes watching me. I smile and return to my book. Then I felt someone near me, I look up to see a black man smiling at me. He looked to be about 22, he was tall and had short shaved hair. I could see his medium sized build under his shirt and his very toned muscles as he held his coffee. The exact opposite that my husband was.
"How is the book?" he asked.
I sat there for a long pause, speechless. He was gorgeous, his well defined jaw and bright teeth as he smiled.
"Good" I stammered. I must have sounded like a complete idiot to him as I stumbled over myself.
"I really liked her other works, I was curious to see how that one was." Another smile.
"It's a bit pretentious," I quipped putting the book down.
"May I sit?" as he pointed to the empty booth seat across from me. I nodded yes.
