Yeah, we get your dictionary-definition-quoting point.
But girls and couples getting some compensation for doing the nasty in front of a camera isn't what we mean by professional. They're not making a living from it or running a business. By our looser definition of play-for-pay, they're still amateurs.
But your point is taken. At the margins, the pro-am line can get blurry.
