Unfortunately for you, i'm not in Cap now, but may be you could meet Graynsam once? And of course you must visit the Johnny Wokkers pub (in the evening), there i always met friendly other people (couples, woman and other middle aged guys) and not to forget that John and Jennifer are very friendly. More than 75% of the evenings in Cap i spend there or started/finished there. And very nearby at Le Snacky (fast food) i also have met in the past some friendly people and opposite of the Johnny Wokkers pub you can have very good meals at Le Mississipi. (there you will experience that French minutes are not 60 seconds)
