My wife got a tattoo on her left breast after her 17 yo lover took her cherry. She was almost 14 but the state fair artists were not really into laws and such.
Anyway, she became pregnant and her boyfriend never came back from Vietnam. She birthed the baby at a Booth home and never looked back.
Her dad was employed by a grocery store chain so the entire family was transferred to avoid the shame.
When I met her in '88 her tattoo was very faded but because I could still read her first lover's name and it bothered me. I asked her to cover it.
She was not ashamed of her tattoo. Her first lover had impregnated at 13 and on account of his wartime sacrifice she never got over him.
I met her 35 years later and I had a problem with her tattoo. Every time I looked at it I envisioned a 13 yo child succumbing to the whiles of an older, experienced lover.
Anyhow, when we'd been together for a few weeks she agreed to do a tat-over. Even though I can still see the outline of her first lover tattoo my scorpion covers most of it. I can live with this "minor" indiscretion.
