Culso says that Catalonia is a region on Spain, one of the most important.
TTR says that the word "region" is offensive to Catalans, as that is exactly what fascist dictator general Franco (who died 40 years ago) wanted: to turn the historical stateless nations of Catalonia and the Basque Country i(n fact, they have never been an independent nation) into mere regions of Spain (one of the most liberal countries in the world, ask the tourists) . I assume you are Spanish, and therefore you feel annoyed by Catalans feeling Catalan (too many assumptions?). Too bad for you (specially now that they've started the political process for national independence), (which is not true, even the European union has stablished that they wouldn't accept Catalonia as an independent country) but quite frankly if you don't like this thread (Culso nevers says to dislike this thread) just look for another one called "Naked Spanish flamenco dancers" and let Catalans enjoy their thread. Or is Spanish imperialism (Spanih Empire vanished hundreds of years ago)too bad that you not only don't want Catalans to be independent, speak their language or have their national sports selections, but also you don't even want them to have a simple thread on OCC.
TTR also says that some Spaniards are racist against Catalans (well, all of them belong to the same race)
I don't know, but I think TTR seems to have a lot more prejudices than Culso)
