My wife of 50 years has only shaved twice in her life. She tried it in her 20's just after were married but got a lovely itch. She had bright ginger curly hair and it took a few months to grow back ion.
When she was in maternity ward delivivering our first daugther, the medics insisted, against her protests, that her hair be shaved. They said it was for "hygiene" reasons. She said that she suffered more from the razor burn itch than form the stretching of her pussy hole. It took lots of soothing cream for a cople of weeks before the spots healed.
She has never shaved again but her hair which has never been long anyway is now fair and not noticable.
