Quite a few people have thanked and posted, so I'll post a couple more memories.
Going back a bit, I first started really liking panty glimpses over trousers at university. Most of the girls I knew there hardly ever wore skirts and dresses (well, they did in the summer if it was hot) and usually wore jeans. I began noticing the odd flash of underwear at the back if a girl bent down, and couldn't help being interested in different styles that different girls wore.
Some of the more reserved, shy or geeky girls seemed to wear only white or black plain cotton panties, with those little frills on the waistband- as though they had never gone for anything more adventurous than the multipack M&S knickers their mums used to buy them. I once remember being in the student laundry, loading my clothes into a washing machine, when two girls came in- big, tall sporty girls- and both crouched down to get their clothes from the machines, each exposing a couple of inches of the same style of frilly white knickers.
Then there were some girls (like the one mentioned above) who liked lacy underwear, and would often have a bit of black or white lace poking out- I've always loved seeing the delicate lace next to the denim of the jeans. There were a few girls who wore bolder colours or patterns.
When I first arrived at university I mainly glimpsed full or bikini style knickers. However, before too long, a craze for thongs seemed to start among the girls there. More and more often I would see the "whale tail" of a thong sitting above a girl's jeans, in many different colours- some wider thongs, some G-strings. Even some of the geeky girls, who you'd never expect to wear them, sometimes flashed thongs. There was a lot to see!
One of my favourite thong sightings was from a cute Russian girl- not over-feminine but still cute; she was thin and had medium-sized, pert breasts. A few times I saw her with her thong showing in the student bar- once, her jeans had ridden down so far that I could actually see her white frilly thong disappearing between the cheeks of her ass... the sight of those little frills disappearing into her butt really turned me on... I remember wondering if it was ever itchy or uncomfortable, and would make her need to subtly adjust her knickers when no-body was looking (probably not, but who knows?)
