It would be extremely naive for anyone taking part to think that no one is going to take pictures of them and post them to various places. If you don't want that to happen, don't take part in the ride. The majority of riders are fun people. They take what comes in good spirit. The antipathy towards snappers and the media (without whom, WNBR would cease to exist) is going to kill this event off. Once it's gone, the complainers will wish they'd had a bit less to say.
Regarding the netting, it was a farce. Firstly, the area was never going to be big enough. Secondly, many participants are perfectly happy to be seen getting painted up. I had constant banter with people, and the only person who was really sour was the guy with the extravagant facial hair wearing a miniskirt and tights. What a complete prat - coming out in a public park dressed like that and then complaining that people are taking notice of him
90% of riders are exhibitionists and enjoy (reasonable, restrained) attention. That's the fact of the matter.

Must be where I was going wrong. I am not an exhibitionist. I think I'll stick to the naturist events I can go to where cameras are not allowed. I'm not a prude - believe me if you knew me you'd know that was a true statement - I just get annoyed that so many people have not been asked to have pictures taken and that there is clearly some agitation building between riders and photographers hence I don't want to be involved. Disappointing.
