sometimes with a broken movie file, it will rename the file extension because it was not save properly. If that is the case, you could try renaming the extension manually, but you will need to alter the viewing details in the folder first, to show file extensions. failing that, ty using a porgram like formatfactory, to convert the media into a different format.
