I guess he could be called a prick for suggesting that. But then I would have to call some of my friends the same thing. Lots of comments are made with a laugh or a followed by a, just kidding. He was from old money, the upper class and I needed work to survive. I felt jealous of the position he was in. He could say what he wanted and leave it for you to deal with. If you wouldn't or couldn't give him what he wanted that would be the end of it and his world would go on without any difficulty.

He did know who my wife was. How, I wasn't sure. I did feel pretty good about that in sort of a, I've got something you don't have, nah nah nahna nah kind of way. The thought of her being with him crept into my daydreams, quite frequently actually. My fear of losing her to him kept the issue in my dreams. Insecurity is a strong deterrent for many things.
