Yeah, I read about the genesis of this bizzare stunt several years ago. The part I fail to understand is how anybody with an IQ higher than their shoe size could think that a police officer would ever ask a non-police-officer to perform a physical search and interregation, much less doing so without the police officer being physically present. There are some unbelievably dense people out there.
